Delete Account and Data
This page is a translation provided for convenience. The legally binding text is the Russian version; in case of any discrepancy, it prevails.
You can delete your account yourself, from inside the app, in a few taps. If you do not have the app to hand, write to us and we will delete it on request.

From the app
- Open the Profile tab.
- Tap the settings icon in the top right corner.
- Scroll down to Delete account.
- Confirm with your current password.
The account is deleted immediately: no waiting period, no need to contact support, and no way to change your mind. It cannot be restored.
By email
Write to help@teamurapp.com from the address the account is registered to. No other proof is needed - a matching address is the confirmation that the account is yours.
We delete within 15 business days, usually the same day. This period is set by the law of the Republic of Kazakhstan on Personal Data and its Protection for ceasing processing after consent is withdrawn.
For parents
If you are a legal guardian and want your child's account deleted, write to help@teamurapp.com. Give the first name, last name and, if you know it, the account's email address. We do not request documents proving the relationship.
What is deleted permanently
- first name, last name, date of birth, photograph, "about me" text;
- school, grade, city, status, languages;
- skills, interests and the notes on them;
- Instagram and Telegram links;
- achievements: exam scores, olympiads, experience and portfolio projects;
- projects you created and applications to others' projects;
- all connections and connection requests;
- notifications, block list, feed view and like records;
- your consent log;
- email address and password;
- the photograph file in storage - it is deleted along with the record, rather than remaining reachable by direct link.
What remains - and why
Your messages in other people's chats. They stay with your correspondents and are attributed to "Deleted user". What another person wrote should not disappear along with someone else's account, and erasing half a conversation makes the other half incomprehensible.
There is a second reason, and we state it plainly: deleting an account must not be a way to destroy evidence in a report.
Your comments on feed posts. These are public and remain visible, attributed to "Deleted user", for the same reason as messages: a discussion under a post falls apart if half the replies vanish from it.
Reports made about you, and the moderation decisions on them. Without them moderation could not complete cases already under way.
Promising "we erase absolutely everything" would be untrue, so we say this before deletion rather than after.
In all of these cases the link to you is severed: the text remains, but the name, photograph, school and any other means of telling who wrote it do not.
How long what remains is kept
Personal data is deleted at the moment the account is deleted.
Anonymised messages and comments are kept for as long as the chats and posts containing them exist. Case material is kept while it is needed to conclude the case. Neither can any longer be connected to a person.
What happens to your projects
Projects you created are deleted along with your account - together with their descriptions, roles and applications. The team chat becomes archived: members can still read it, but no one can write there any more.
This affects your team too. The project disappears for everyone who was in it, not only for you. Their work, roles and applications go with it.
Handing a project over to another member is not possible right now - the app has no such feature. This page previously said it was possible; that was untrue, and we removed it on 24 August.
If the project matters to the team, agree in advance: let someone recreate it on their side before you delete your account.
